The measures possibly taken by yourself are:
a. Install “earthing” (earth-electrodes). Here are two
possibilities:
1. A vertical earth-electrode.
Best use for the electrode a copper water pipe, at least four meters long. You
can drive it into the ground with a hammer. In many instances it also can be
injected into the ground with the aid of a garden hose, connected to the water
supply (figure 6).
2. A horizontal electrode in the ground.
Use for this preferably two twisted tinned copper wires, each with a surface of
6mm sq. (2.75mm diameter) and a length of at least 15 meters. Dig this conductor
60cm deep in the ground.
For safety reasons you may not use the safety-earth of the mains as lightning-ground.
