a. In view of lightning-protection it is advisable to place the
(metal) antenna mast at a few meters distance from the house (see figure 1), the
antenna cable must run under ground into the house. This must absolutely be done
when the house has a thatched roof.
b. The measure of a. is not always possible. In this case connect the mast to
the outside of the house at a wall (see figure 2).
c. When a. and b. are both not possible, then place the antenna on the roof, but
never put the mast through the roof.
d. When guy wires are necessary, then use non-metal wires which do not conduct electricity (f.i. 4mm or 6mm flags line made of polyester, which does not degrade due to UV).
