Possibilities There are different possibilities to minimize the chance for damage resulting of a lightning-hit. Here are the most important.

The more measures are taken, the smaller the chance for damage.

Under no circumstances you may think, that by taking measures to the antenna, the whole house is safe. In such a case a complete lightning-earth system must be installed, consisting of a conductive network on the roof with downgoing conductors surrounding the house (See figure 11). This has to be done by a specialized company.
